Admission requirements

To apply for admission to the MA or PhD programs the candidate must:

  1. Possess a bachelor’s degree of at least 4 years in any of the following areas:
    1. For the PhD: philosophy; Human sciences or religion.
    2. For the MA: philosophy; human, natural, cognitive, or religion sciences.
  2. Have mastery of computer tools.
  3. Have sufficient knowledge of English to study with audiovisual material and specific bibliography in this language.

Admission process

Since all students in the first cohort will have a study grant, to be admitted to the program they must first apply to the scholarship call. The deadline for submitting applications is May 3, 2020. They must be sent via email in .pdf format to filosofia@austral.edu.ar, with the subject “Solicitud – Beca Doctorado [o Maestría]”. The MA and PhD degrees will begin on July 20, 2020.

Once the application has been submitted, the University authorities will set up an interview with those candidates who have been shortlisted according to the order of merit and the available quota. The interview will assess the motivations and purposes of the applicant to complete the postgraduate course, and other elements of judgment that contribute to having a complete picture of the candidate’s background, experiences and real possibilities to meet the high demands of development of postgraduate studies at Universidad Austral.

Once the scholarship has been confirmed, the candidate must complete the admission process, duly completing the form provided for this purpose, within the deadline. This form must be accompanied by the following annexes:

  • Photocopy of the first three pages of the National Identity Document and, in the case of foreigners who did not have an Argentine document, a photocopy of the passport.
  • Original diploma legalized by the Ministry of Education, where the degree is accredited. The applicant whose degree has been obtained in a foreign university must sufficiently prove the authenticity of the diploma and the analytical certificate required by legalization by the corresponding authorities.
  • Final analytical certificate of the undergraduate degree, granted by the University that issued its title, duly legalized.
  • Obverse and reverse photocopies, on the same sheet, of the diploma and the analytical certificate.

Fees

During the period of study of the first cohort the enrollment will be covered by the Austral-Templeton Scholarship.

During the thesis period, tuition will be US $ 500 per year.
